ATH (Eleftherios Venizelos), not island airports (JTR, HER, and the rest). Aegean plus Ryanair/easyJet connect Athens to FCO and a thinner set of western cities. Geographic extremity mirrors Lisbon, southeast instead of west: backtracking from Athens to Ireland is a greedy-search smell. How long to stay
Two nights in the city (Acropolis plus a neighborhood like Koukaki) unless you add a pre-planned island after the loop — that extra island is on you, not on Hot Picks.
